Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. James is the son of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. His mother was caucasian while his father was Nigerian. When he graduated at Sanderson High School, in 2010 he enrolled at Wake Forest University and obtained his Bachelor's in Economics. James gained fame when he made his on-screen debut on the reality TV star in The Bachelorette. He was selected in 2020 to become the bachelor for season 25 of The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The series premiered in on the 20th of January in. James was a perfect fit to the job because He is attractive, well-rounded and tall and has a good sense of comedy. Rachael Krukconnell turned into his love interest at the conclusion of the season. In the following year, 2021, he was joined with the renowned dancer Arnold in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold finished 12th.
